Frank Wouters is founder and General Manager of Ecofys GmbH, the first foreign establishment of the Econcern Group of companies that is based in the Netherlands. Ecofys is a leading consultancy in the field of energy conservation and renewable energy. Since 1997 the number of full-time staff grew from 2 to 25 in Germany. Early 2001 the Nuremberg office was established, followed by the Berlin office in summer 2002. Overall the Econcern group employs some 200 highly qualified professionals, divided over the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, United Kingdom, Poland and Spain. Frank Wouters has long-term professional working experience in 3 countries and is internationally active. He is a member of several (inter)national standardization committees for PV solar energy systems and components: PV GAP, IEC TC82, CENELEC TC82, NEC82 and has specialized in the field of solar energy systems for rural electrification. Frank Wouters has further in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with sustainable building, solar urbanism, renewable energy technologies (such as wind energy, solar energy, biomass, etc.) and various other non-technical aspects of (renewable) energy issues.
