Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Schmid ist Vorstandsvorsitzender des Instituts für Solare Energieversorgungstechnik e. V. (ISET) in Kassel. Ziele des Instituts sind die Förderung und Durchführung anwendungsorientierter Forschung und vorindustrieller Entwicklung auf dem Gebiet der Nutzung erneuerbarer Energiequellen, der rationellen Energieverwendung und der Wasserbehandlung. Rund 70 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter sind derzeit in Kassel und am ISET-Standort Hanau beschäftigt.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Schmid is member of the executive board at the Institut für Solare Energieversorgungstechnik e. V. (ISET) in Kassel, Germany. ISET is concerned with applied research and pre-industrial development in the field of renewable energies, efficient use of energy and water treatment. The main emphasis is on electrical systems technology in the areas wind energy, photovoltaics, hybrid systems and energy storage. The institute has a staff of 70 people. Besides this Jürgen Schmid is professor for Efficient Energy Conversion at the University of Kassel.
